a new adventure

My summer? It's gonna be crazy awesome. Three, two, one, blast-off.

The Lord has revealed several things to me in the past few months, one of which being my need to grow and experience new things on my own, away from the familiar. I've been overly blessed with the opportunity to go and serve at Camp Aldersgate in Little Rock, a non-profit organization for children and youth that have a medical condition, physical disability, or developmental delay. I'm working as a counselor for 7 weeks out of the summer, which means I'll be doing things like supervising camper activities and assisting campers with anything they might need during that week. YOU GUYS, I'M PUMPED. I'm leaving around the end of May for training, and won't be back until school starts back in mid August. This will be my first experience working all summer at a camp, so that's kind of an intimidating thought, but excitement still trumps the butterflies in my stomach.

I'm confident that the Lord has prepared me for this and I know that He'll work in a mighty way. There's never been a doubt in my mind about that. He's been faithful in every season of the journey. I hope that in all the chaos, I'll remember to just be still and rest in His peace. I won't accomplish a thing if I don't. I'm asking for you guys to be praying as the staff prepare during these next couple of weeks. Prayers for peace, wisdom, and energy. We're all fired up and ready to go! We want to make this summer one to remember for these campers. I can't wait to meet some extraordinary people. Bring on the camp life!
